Acne is a common problem affecting teenagers and young adults. It occurs when the pores of your skin get blocked by the oily secretions. Most of the disease is minor and gets cleared with exfoliating face washes based on glycolic or salicylic acid.

I would like to share some tips for patients having acne prone skin to prevent acne.

Make sure that you clean your face with face washes 2-3 times a day especially when you are back from work or at night time.

Avoid oil application on your scalp.

Avoid using heavy cosmetics on your face, as this will also block your pores

Drink plenty of water and eat fruits.

Avoid parlor procedures like facial scrubbing or cleaning on an active area as this can also aggravate acne.

Avoid food with a high glycemic index like sweets or chocolates.

Lastly, if your acne is still not settled you need to consult your Doctor as it may lead to pigmentation or scarring.
